The students are taken upon a journey of cost consideration such as calculations of Cost of Goods Sold and/or Cost of Goods Manufactured for Internal Management Analysis.
Learning Objectives are as follows:
1- Understanding of cost methods, cost accumulation, and cost assignment techniques so to gain expertise on how products and services are costed for internal management analysis as well as external financial reporting;
2- To develop understanding and proficiency in using cost information for making short term and long-term decisions and for responsibility accounting.
3- Use the responsibility accounting Matrix to improve efficiency and determine incentives.
4- In-depth understanding of the use of accounting and other information in performance evaluation and reward systems in order to align the objectives of the employees with the organization's objectives.
5- To be able to design cost accounting and budgeting systems;
6- How to use the above systems for cost control and evaluation of cost objects.
7- Develop the skill to use Capital budgeting techniques and key elements of management control systems.
Sassan Zabeti has over twenty five years of diverse experience in tax, accounting, business management, and consulting. Sassan is a Certified Public Accountant. He also has earned two Master Degrees from University of Texas at Dallas: a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and a Master of Science in Accounting and Information Management (M.S.). Currently, he is a candidate for a degree of Juris Doctor (J.D.) specializing in executive track- graduation date October 22. Over the past twenty-five years he has held positions of: a college professor of accounting/the director of the accounting department. coordinator of the CPA program- assuring compliance with the Texas Board of Public Accountancy. chief financial officer of a multimillion-dollar enterprise - planning growth and overseeing all financial affairs. vice president of the largest fitness company in California - overseeing the operations, finance, and sales production of 12 large health clubs. sales manager of one of the most prestigious automobile dealerships in the US, training the staff, meeting quotas, and managing multimillion-dollar inventory. Sassan's diverse education, extensive professional experience, and leadership style form a series of transferrable skills, which enable him to give sound accounting, entrepreneurial, and business advice as well as build and manage a team of professionals/financial specialists.
